Accredited checking pharmacy technician (ACPT)
Overview
This programme provides the skills, knowledge and accreditation to allow registered pharmacy technicians to competently and confidently take on the role of accredited final accuracy checker.

Eligibility
- Registered with the GPhC and working in Wales.
- Supporting evidence of accurate dispensing according to locally agreed SOPs.
- Have access to an educational supervisor and support from your senior supervising pharmacy manager.
- Completion of online application form.
Pre-course preparation
Prior to starting Pharmacy Technicians are required to:
- Read and comply with GPhC current professional standards
- Familiarise themselves with the current "Medicines Ethics and Practice: The Professional Guide for Pharmacists''
- Demonstrate accuracy relevant to the area of work. This should be in accordance with in-house SOPs
- Familiarise themselves with checking SOPs relevant to the area of work
- Review errors that may have been recorded within the pharmacy, looking at the range and type of errors
