Residents can access weekly local teaching every Wednesday at UHW. Details will be shared with Residents in advance.

Residents are encouraged to attend:

  • Supraregional training online every 3 weeks on a Friday 16:00 - 17:00
  • Suparegional teaching in person every 3 months
  • GAIN national online training Programme on the last Wednesday and Thursday of the month between 17:00 and 19:00

Monthly teaching days rotate around units and are usually held on the 21st, or the closest weekday if this falls on a weekend (none in August or December).

In addition, Residents are invited to Temporal bone training days held every Friday (usually 2-3 per year) on a rostered basis at our temporal bone dissection unit at Cardiff University.

All residents are expected to attend the ENT Wales annual conference every October.

We also participate in the annual School of Surgery cadaveric training days usually in September.
